Episode 16: Actually Doing the Work: Self Acceptance, Liminality and Letting Go
Mar 18, 2026"Doing the work" has become one of those phrases that means everything and nothing.
Usually, it gets recruited to mean optimising harder, performing wellness more convincingly, or becoming an impressively evolved version of yourself. This episode makes the case that it's actually none of those things. Real inner work looks more like radical self-acceptance. Delegitimising the voices that have spent years telling you who you should be, and allowing what's underneath to surface. Which sounds straightforward until you realise it involves passing through liminality: that disorienting in-between space where what once defined you no longer fits and the new ground hasn't formed yet. Not a crisis. Not a failure. Just the threshold.
We explore what that process actually looks like across career shifts, family expectations, performance culture, and loss, and why the discomfort of it is usually a sign you're doing it right.
