Episode 31: The Lens You Forgot You Were Wearing
Jul 01, 2026
Fish, apparently, don't notice water. Which feels unfair because if anyone should know they're swimming in something, it's the fish.
Humans aren't much better.
Before you were old enough to have opinions of your own, you inherited a way of seeing the world. Ideas about success. About relationships. About what makes a life worthwhile. About who belongs and who doesn't. Most of us spend our lives trying to become a better version of ourselves without ever stopping to ask whether the measuring stick was ours to begin with.
That's what this episode is about.
We explore what the wisdom traditions call dominant consciousness; the invisible worldview we're all swimming in, and why it's so difficult to see until something jars us awake. Because once you notice the lens you've been looking through, you realise something rather liberating.
You don't have to keep wearing it.
